(PG RATED - JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND ABOVE)

Opening Halloween weekend, will be Jeffery Hatcher’s MURDER BY POE. On a dark and dreadful night, there is a woman in white lost within a wood. She soon arrives at the only shelter for miles: a house full of murderers. Mixing funhouse tricks, Grand Guignol and a deadly game of cat and mouse, MURDER BY POE is a theatrical re-imagining of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s most famous tales of terror. As each haunted figure tells a story of crime and mayhem, the woman must solve the puzzle of the house and the riddle of the man who ushers her into its mysteries.

The magnificent stage set is a rubbish dump, three times larger that life, where the Jellicle Cats have come out to play. With extremely popular music and amazing choreography created by Annie Lavin, CATS will be a sure-fire crowd pleaser. Come to Plummer Auditorium to see this purrfect production!

ALMOST, MAINE. by John Cariani, tells the stories of fictional town Almost, nestled high in snowy northern Maine, miles from the ocean (and the lobsters). On one snowy night, the aurora borealis shines down on the almost-town causing strange happenings, some challenging, some wonderful. Told through a series of eight stories, the play is about gaining or losing love, about discovering love where it is least expected, and not finding it where it had always been.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE by Bob Martin

in Plummer Auditorium on the campus of Fullerton Union High School

MARCH 2012

(PG RATED - JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND ABOVE)

This year our spring musical will transport you to a magical, wonderful world in this new musical comedy that won the Tony Award for Best Book and Best Score in 2006. The hilarious show-within-a-show begins when a die-hard musical fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called “The Drowsy Chaperone” and the show magically bursts to life. Audiences are instantly immersed in the glamorous, hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day as the show unfolds (literally) in his small apartment.

in Pitlockry Hall at La Habra High School

APRIL 2012

THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE, by Julia Cho, follows George, a brilliant linguist whose life work is capturing the world’s vanishing languages. George’s wife is headed out the door because he can’t find the right words to express himself. But at work, George’s assistant is mute with adoration for him. Enter the last two speakers of the Ellowan language—the long-married Alta and Resten, a funny and fractious truth-talking couple. Cho’s magical prize-winning tale, loaded with life’s contradictions—love and loss, happiness and pain, endings and beginnings—explores the force and failings of words.
